World Studies II

This college preparatory course covers major turning points that shaped the modern world from the late 18th century through the present. As students trace the rise of democratic ideas and develop an understanding of the historic roots of current world issues, students will examine their own values as a product of this history. Topics include the European enlightenment, political revolutions, industrial revolution with links to the world economy, technological and communications revolutions, imperialism, World Wars I and II, nation building, and the Cold War and post-war international developments.
